Dr Sara Varughese
Dr Sara Varughese represents CBM on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. She is the National Director & Managing Trustee, CBM,  is an ophthalmologist who did clinical practice for sometime. Thereafter, for over two decades, she has been involved in leading and advising blindness prevention programs in neighbouring countries – Nepal, Bangladesh and SriLanka, in addition to India. She possesses enormous experience working at policy level both with the government and non-government in the southeast Asia region in blindness prevention, disability, rehabilitation and health systems strengthening areas. She was also one of the key contributors for developing NPCB plans under 10th and 11th five year plans.

Sightsavers India

Mr R N Mohanty
Mr R N Mohanty represents Sightsavers India on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA.  Mr Mohanty is CEO, Sightsavers India with over 23 years of experience in international development. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Post Graduation in Human Resource Management. RN, as he is fondly called by his colleagues, over the years has had experience of working on diverse issues like environment, health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, livelihood, education, disability and eye health. Prior to joining Sightsavers, RN was the Chief Operating Officer at CARE India.

Aravind Eye Care System

Dr R D Ravindran
Dr R D Ravindran represents Aravind Eye Care System on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. He is currently  Chairman, Aravind Eye Care System.  Prior to donning this role, he established Aravind Eye Hospitals in Tirunelveli, Coimbatore and Pondicherry towards fulfilling the mission of Aravind Eye Care System to serve millions of eye care needs globally. In his current capacity, Dr Ravindran is involved in bringing changes to standardize “quality eye care” across Aravind eye care system. Apart from managing and mentoring the key leaders of the institution, his field of interest includes teaching eye health management courses leading to capacity building of other eye hospitals. Dr Ravindran served as the Regional Co Chair for IAPB (International Association for Prevention of Blindness) from 2004 to 2012 and is also a member of several national and international advisory committees on eye care. He is a recipient of several national and international awards.

RP Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences

Dr Atul Kumar
Dr Atul Kumar represents RP Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA.  Dr Kumar is Chief & Professor of Ophthalmology at RP Centre. A specialist in Vitreous-Retina, his fields of specialty are Vitreous-Retinal Diseases and Surgery, Macular Disorders and Ocular Trauma. After completing his MD at RP Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences , Dr R P Centre, AIIMS Dr Kumar joined R P Centre as an Assistant Professor in the year 1987. Since then he has dedicated his career to the field of Medical Education. Recipient of several prestigious awards, Dr Kumar was Conferred the “PADMA SHRI” in 2007 by President of India. Dr Kumar is currently the Honorary Advisor Ophthalmology to the Government of India. In 2016, he was conferred with the prestigious Dr BC Roy Award by the Medical Council of India for Eminent Medical Teacher. Dr Atul Kumar has contributed more than 236 indexed and non-indexed publications and chapters in over 17 books, he is also authored a book on “Lasers in Ophthalmology” & Co-edited book on “Disorders of Retina & Vitreous”

Lions Clubs International Foundation

Lion Arvinder Pal Singh
Lion Arvinder Pal Singh represents Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. He is Chairman, National Sight First Committee of India  engaged with blindness prevention activities in his capacity as a volunteer with Lions Clubs International (LCI). This is the world’s largest service club organisation, and through its Sight First programs, it has made a major impact in reducing preventable and reversible blindness in India and across the world. Lions Clubs in India run more than 150 eye hospitals. APS has served on the International Board of this Association and is the current Chairman of the National Sight First Committee of India. By professional, APS is a practicing Chartered Accountant.

Seva Foundation

Ms Heidi Chase
Ms Heidi Chase represents Seva Foundation on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. Ms Chase is  Director of Seva Foundation’s Innovation and Sight Program and has worked in international development and health for more than 10 years. At Seva, Heidi collaborates with dozens of eye hospitals in India and globally. Prior to joining Seva, she worked in a number of countries in Africa and Asia, most recently as the West Africa Regional Coordinator for Women’s Protection and Empowerment at the International Rescue Committee. Heidi holds a Master’s degree in international development from American University’s School of International Service.

Mr Rajeev Nandan
Mr Rajeev Nandan represents the Industry on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. He is the Head-Insurance & Govt. Affairs, Alcon Novartis Divison since 2010 spearheading Market Access & Govt. Affairs activities for India market.  Mr Nandan is an astute professional having MBA in marketing and has rich experience of 19 years in Sales and Marketing, Market Access & Govt. Affairs across medical device, vision care, pharma, Nutraceuticals, Life & Health Insurance industry. He has worked for companies like ICICI Prudential & TATA AIG. He is also engaged actively in different industry associations like CII, FICCI, AdvaMed & MTAI and work closely with concerned stakeholders in shaping country healthcare policies and eye care specifically. Mr Nandan is a regular speaker in healthcare conferences. He was recently invited to speak in coveted “Drug Pricing & Reimbursement Strategies Summit” NJ, USA. His passion is to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to improve access to new technology and unmet medical need in eye care, patient access is the area which excites him most and wants to see everyone gets the right to sight.
