Mr R N Mohanty
Mr R N Mohanty represents Sightsavers India on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA.  Mr Mohanty is CEO, Sightsavers India with over 26 years of experience in international development. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Post Graduation in Human Resource Management. RN, as he is fondly called by his colleagues, over the years has had experience of working on diverse issues like environment, health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, livelihood, education, disability and eye health. Prior to joining Sightsavers, RN was the Chief Operating Officer at CARE India.
Dr Praveen

Vice President : Dr RP Centre, AIIMS

Dr Praveen Vashist
Dr Praveen Vashist represents Dr. R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS on the board of VISION2020INDIA. He is Professor and Officer In-Charge and Community Ophthalmology at RP Centre Dr Vashist routinely provides technical assistance to National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB) in India. He has developed technical guidelines for Regional Institutes of Ophthalmology for India and has been involved in planning, implementation and monitoring in all major surveys under NPCB over last 10 years. Some of the important ones are - National Blindness Survey, where he was the Principal Investigator; NPCB-Trachoma Rapid Assessment Survey 2006, and the Car-Nicobar Trachoma Surveys of 2010 and 2013. Dr Vashist is also leading the ongoing NPCB-National Trachoma Prevalence Survey and National Trachoma Rapid Assessment in the country Dr Vashist has been member of several National Task Force & Committees under NPCB&VI, India on Diabetic Retinopathy, Task Force on Retinopathy of Prematurity, Advisory Committee for the School Health, and Member Secretary of NPCB National Survey Advisory Committee under Govt of India.

Dr Sara Varughese
Dr Sara Varughese represents CBM on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. She is the National Director & Managing Trustee, CBM. She is an ophthalmologist who did clinical practice for sometime. Thereafter, for over two decades, she has been involved in leading and advising blindness prevention programs in neighbouring countries – Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, in addition to India. She possesses enormous experience working at policy level both with the government and non-government in the southeast Asia region in blindness prevention, disability, rehabilitation and health systems strengthening areas. She was also one of the key contributors for developing NPCB plans under 10th and 11th five year plans.

Treasurer : Mission for Vision

Ms Elizabeth Kurian
Ms Elizabeth Kurian represents Mission for Vision on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. She is also West Zone representative  on the board. Ms Kurian is Chief Executive of Mission for Vision and has a track record spanning over 28 years in the corporate and international development sectors across organisations such as MS University of Baroda, Nielsen India and Sightsavers. She has provided transformational leadership to large programmes in complex, diverse organisational and operating environments, leading highly skilled teams in Asia and Africa. A member of various boards and advisory committees, Elizabeth has a Master’s degree in Nutrition (for which she was awarded the university first rank and gold medal), has done an Executive Programme in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and various business and leadership programmes in the UK.

Phanindra Babu Nukella, Ph.D.
Mr Phanindra Babu Nukella , CEO,  VISION 2020: The Right to Sight - INDIA  has  a total of  20 years of experience at progressive capacities in not-for-profit health sector, Mr Nukella has strong competencies in providing leadership to large scale health programmes, leading the advocacy efforts with the government, and managing the partnerships with diverse forms of civil society viz. NGOs, FBOs, CBOs, private sector and the government. Special expertise includes large size team management, advocacy, organizational systems efficiency, strategic information & evaluation and coordination with international Donor organizations. Have good technical expertise in HIV/AIDS, Maternal and Child Health, and eye care programmes. He did Ph.D. in Population Sciences from a university recognized by WHO.
