Mr Atul Kapoor represents the North zone on the Board of VISION 2020 INDIA. Collaborative, mission driven, executive level professional with over 25 years of progressive experience in driving new initiatives, partnerships and engagement in India and abroad (Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, and Taiwan) within corporate and social sector. Closely engaged with Governments, Bilateral and Multilateral donors, Foundations, Corporates, Industry Associations developing and deepening relationships, raising resources, achieving outcomes. Seasoned leader with extensive exposure across cross functional areas - key stakeholder management, strategy & leadership, influencing and advocacy, business development, relationship management, P&L management, channel development & management, end-to-end program management, fund raising. Proven competence in setting up business units & functions and successfully scaling them into sustainable & profitable businesses. Demonstrated excellence in managing diverse set of internal as well as external stakeholders, ensuring buy-in for strategies and effective implementation of the same. Dr. C. Sharat Babu represents the South zone on the Board of VISION 2020 INDIA. Dr Sharat is the Founder of Eye Research Society and the Chief Medical Director Maxivision group of Eye Hospitals. He did master’s in Ophthalmology, at Manipal, Kasturba Medical College. He received several awards and has been associated with Rotary Club.

Dr. Rahul Deshpande
Dr. Rahul Deshpande represents the West zone on the Board of VISION 2020 INDIA. Dr Deshpande is a distinguished Ophthalmologist with a wealth of experience and expertise. He currently serves as the Chief Medical Director at P.B.M.A's H.V. Desai Eye Hospital, located in Pune, Maharashtra. Dr. Deshpande is an accomplished researcher with numerous publications in renowned medical journals. His research covers a wide range of topics in ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, ocular surface conditions, and pediatric eye care. He also undergone training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and is well-versed in the regulatory aspects of clinical research. With a strong academic background, extensive clinical experience, and a dedication to advancing the field of ophthalmology through research and patient care, Dr. Rahul Deshpande stands as a prominent figure in the Indian medical community.

Central Zone Representative

Mr. Subeesh Kuyyadiyil
Mr. Subeesh Kuyyadiyil represents the Central zone on the Board of VISION 2020 INDIA. Mr Subeesh is the Head – Center for Community Ophthalmology, Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya. A committed Eye Care Management professional, he holds a post-graduate degree in Hospital Administration from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India, and an MSc in Public Health for Eye Care from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London. He honed his expertise with a Fellowship in Eye Hospital Management at India's renowned Aravind Eye Care System, where he dedicated four years to their various hospitals across the country. For the past ten years, he has been a key figure at Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, India's largest rural eye care organization, where he currently serves as the Head of the Center for Community Ophthalmology. He also playing avital role in planning outreach programs, establishing primary eye care centers in rural areas and leading International's Capacity Building Programmes.

North-East Zone Representative

Mr Aaron Basaiawmoit
Mr Aaron Basaiawmoit represents the North-Eastern states on the board of VISION 2020 INDIA. He is currently the CEO for Bansara Eye Care Centre, Shillong and is the Director Administration for Bansara Institute of Ophthalmic Sciences. With over 8 years of experience working in the eye health space, he has successfully conceptualized, fund-raised, executed multiple projects collaborating with various INGOs to help improve the eye health status for the people of Meghalaya and lead the team at Bansara. Mr Aaron Basaiawmoit has been the joint winner of the Financial Times and Sightsavers International Global MBA Challenge 2012 - Core Member of the Team RighttoSight. He Co-Founded an online education technology startup called Pyoopil in 2013(Acquired by Ronnie Screwvala’s firm UpGrad in 2016). A member of the Academic Council of Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, Mr Aaron completed his Bachelors of Engineering(Mechanical) from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. A Young India Fellow 2012-13 (1 year PG Liberal Studies Scholarship by IFRE and SEAS, University of Pennsylvania) and represented India as a founding UNLEASH Talent in 2017(A Global Platform for innovating on the SDGs). He is passionate about making a difference in the fields of healthcare, education and technology.
